Our Guides & Team
Brendan is a local to the area with 14 years of guiding at NWL. Fishing runs deep within his family , an avid angler and an area expert! He’s also our freshwater guide for those that want to give that a try!
Davis, one of our skippers with his 60 ton license, grew up fishing the waters of Nootka with his dad and grandfather. You can usually find Davis in a boat even on his days off!
Mike’s been with us for over seven seasons at Nootka Wilderness Lodge and he has been guiding for the past 20 years. This teacher during the winter learned a valuable lesson of his own when he once fell overboard releasing a 43 pounder!
You have likely met Zeus before and now he returns as another one of our expert guides! Welcome back, Zeus!
Born and raised in Powell River, he’s a natural at fishing…and hockey! He loves to spend time on our local lakes & oceans with his family & friends.
Serving as our lodge mechanic, Laurie is one of the hardest working individuals at Nootka Wilderness Lodge. Laurie works day and night to assure everything is working properly and that your experience at NWL will be nothing but exceptional.
With over 16 years in hospitality, Andrea will make sure you have everything you need! Her experience living in the Northwest Territories sailing and fishing on Great Slave Lake give her excellent stories to share with you!
Born and raised in Czech Republic, Aneta got the travel bug after high school, and traveled the world while working on a cruise ship. She moved to Victoria 6 years ago and made Canada her new home. She loves the outdoors and being on the water so the West Coast is the perfect spot her!
Being the daughter of our owner, Brian, Davis has grown up around the Lodge. Davis spends most of her summer out at NWL, so you will almost certainly be greeted by her smile.
This is Matt’s second year working for NWL. Matt has grown up on Vancouver Island and considers himself lucky to be able to join the team again this summer – and we are lucky to have him!
Maja was born and raised in Campbell River, and grew up hiking and exploring all over the island! She is new to the team this season and cant wait to show everyone her home!
Dustin is a certified chef de cuisine with 20 years experience. Born and raised in the Nootka island area with a passion for west coast cuisine. Although he has traveled the world cooking his heart belongs to the west coast.
Dawson has been a part of Nootka Wilderness Lodge all of his life. He is excited to be able to work at the lodge for his second season as our dock boy/deckhand.
Dawson is an expert guide for other kids, showing them around the lodge and introducing them to activities like paddle boarding, kayaking, cliff jumping and more! Dawson loves to meet new people and share his love of Nootka with others.
